About Lisa – Calmbirth Practitioner Sydney

Hi and welcome.

This here is my little bit of space on my website where I get to give you a bit of information about me, where I have come from, what my experience is and how this course is going to be of benefit to you.

I love being a Midwife, I love watching couples become a family and having the privilege to help guide them through those first few days which at times can be challenging. I’m passionate that couples should have a positive birth experience, there is enough negativity in the world to last us a lifetime but the sacredness of birth is something that, given the right foundations, can bring so much joy to your life as you welcome your child into the world.

Birth is an experience like no other and each birth is different. Some couples may only get one go at it and other may be fortunate enough to have more, but they are all unique – that for me is what makes them so special. I have been doing this work now for over 20 years, working in a number of private and public hospitals across Sydney and Overseas but I came to realize more and more that we need to be helping couples to achieve a more positive experience and to help them feel more empowered and in control of their birth journey’s.

Becoming a mother myself has been the biggest gift of all. It changed the way I practiced Midwifery and I think now it has made me a much better Midwife because I have experienced birth myself so I can “walk the talk” as they say.

I have been teaching Calmbirth®  now for over 3 years and the birth stories I have had back as well as all the feedback from fellow Midwives about couples who have done Calmbirth®  show me over and over again how beneficial this course is – whether you have a Normal Vaginal delivery, Induction or Caesarean, you can use the skills and knowledge you gain doing this course to help you achieve a birth you can look back on and feel good about. So positive have the results been since its inception, that the Royal Hospital for Women in Sydney are now in the process of doing a formal study on the program with the aim of publishing in a journal soon.

Being a Midwife is the best job in the world………..being a Calmbirth® Practitioner just put the icing on the cake.

I really look forward to meeting you at one of my Calmbirth® classes and starting you off on your own journey towards a calm and beautiful birth.

Best wishes!
